Solutions for men

Hair loss solutions for men

Around half of men see pattern hair loss by age fifty, driven by genetics and sensitivity to DHT. That is the common story, and it is not the only one. Thyroid conditions, rapid weight loss, medication changes, stress, and scalp conditions all cause hair loss in men too, and they respond to entirely different treatment than pattern loss does.

Which is why the first job is working out which one you are dealing with. Below is every option we offer men, from non-invasive scalp therapy through surgical transplantation.

Reading this page orients you. A consultation diagnoses you.

Nothing on this page can tell you which of these is right for you, and we would not want it to. Written information helps you understand the landscape and arrive with better questions. Identifying your specific cause takes a scalp analysis, your history, and a trained set of eyes on your hair in person. That is what the consultation is for, and it is free.

Hair growth treatments

Treatments that work with the hair you have.

These aim to improve the scalp environment, support the follicles you still have, and slow further loss. Started early enough, they are often what keeps a transplant from being necessary. They are frequently combined.

Laser hair therapy

Low-level laser therapy uses cold red light to increase microcirculation at the base of the follicle and stimulate the growth centre. It also helps break up build-up commonly associated with DHT, which is the main driver of male pattern loss. Non-medical, painless, no known adverse side effects, and consistent users generally begin noticing change in the six to twelve week range.

Enhanced plasma therapy

A small amount of your own blood is drawn, processed to concentrate the platelets, and injected into the scalp. Platelets carry growth factors involved in cell regeneration. Research on plasma therapy for androgenetic alopecia points to increased hair density, though results vary with protocol and individual factors, and larger standardised trials are still needed. Side effects are usually limited to mild tenderness at the injection site.

Extracellular vesicles treatments

Extracellular vesicles are microscopic particles cells use to carry growth factors and proteins to one another. The material we use is bio-ethically sourced from amniotic and umbilical cord tissue and delivers over a thousand localised growth factors to the treatment area. Your body produces fewer of these naturally as you age. Treatment takes under an hour with no downtime, alone or as part of a wider plan.

DE|RIVE Ultra+ scalp treatment

A non-invasive option with no needles, no blood draw, and no downtime. Low-level ultrasound helps a plant-based, hormone-free serum reach the scalp, supporting hydration, comfort, and the appearance of fullness. Typically three in-office treatments about thirty days apart, with at-home products in between. The vesicles here are plant-derived, not human or animal.

CRLab trichology products

Pharmaceutical-grade products from Cesare Ragazzi Laboratories, developed by hair loss specialists to improve scalp circulation and support growth. Separate treatment lines exist for different scalp and hair conditions, so what you are given depends on what your scalp analysis shows rather than on a single house protocol.

Non-surgical hair replacement

For significant loss, or where regrowing your own hair is not realistic, added hair can be integrated with what you have. Not a hairpiece or a toupee. The men's systems give a natural front hairline judged against your age and existing hair, with a scalp that looks normal even parted, and no perceptible change in colour or feel where the two meet. The CNC system builds a fully customised result using 3D scanning of your own scalp.

Surgical option

Hair transplants for men

Transplantation redistributes genetically permanent hair from the back and sides of the head to areas of lesser density, usually the top. It does not create new hair, it moves hair that is not going to fall out to where it is wanted. That is why the donor area matters more than anything else in deciding whether you are a candidate.

The technique is what separates a natural result from an obvious one. Our surgeons build the hairline from single-follicle grafts, then blend larger grafts of two or three follicles behind it, typically moving two to three times as much hair as older approaches. Robotic FUE is available for suitable cases.

Surgery is performed by the hair transplant surgeons at We Grow Hair Indy, who work with patients travelling from across the Midwest and the wider United States.

If you want the full detail, the surgical process is documented step by step on their site. Most people do not need that level of depth before a consultation, and some want nothing else.

Where it starts

Diagnosis first, then a plan.

A trichologist focuses specifically on hair and scalp, where a dermatologist covers skin across the whole body. Ours use advanced imaging to assess your scalp, then work through your history, medications, and lifestyle alongside what the analysis shows. Conditions they routinely identify include androgenetic alopecia, telogen effluvium, seborrheic dermatitis, and alopecia areata, which look similar from the outside and are treated very differently.

Assuming it is pattern loss when it is not is the most common way men lose time, and time is the one thing that is not recoverable with hair loss.
