What is PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Defined?

PRP is a high concentration of platelets surrounded in its own plasma. A small amount of blood is drawn and the red blood cells are isolated from the platelet-rich plasma. Since the autologous Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is processed from the own patient’s blood, there is virtually no risk of allergic reaction or rejection.

Blood Derived Growth Factors

The internal essence of your blood contains life-giving fundamental protein growth factors. PRP utilizes a patented technology that is specifically designed. With a simple process, we can derive a high concentration of biological nutrient rich cells and create autologous platelet-rich plasma.

  • A small amount of your blood is drawn (similar to what is required for a basic lab test).
  • The blood is placed into a centrifuge and spun at a very rapid rate to separate the platelets from the other blood components.
  • The PRP is activated and injected into the areas of concern to release at least eight essential growth factors and signaling proteins.

These growth factors play a significant role in the regulation of cell growth and promote angiogenesis, which is the physiological process involving the growth of new blood vessels. The properties of these growth factors have shown results for improving the healthiness of existing hair and promoting the growth of new hair. Typically, 4 or more treatments are recommended for the best results, with 6-8 weeks between treatments.
